Seizure disorder is not a very common disease which is reported by the patients. A person suffering from this disease can go through immense pain and trauma. People cry out and fall on the floor unconscious, when they get an attack. The most common phenomenon is loosing the bladder control and drooling. The attack stays for a couple of minutes and then the patient regains his consciousness. The term used medically for this disease is epilepsy. There are different variations of this disease with different symptoms.

Seizure is basically a brain disorder where neurons discharge abnormal signals to the body. The abnormal electrochemical impulses sent by the nerve cells causes the muscles, nerves and glands to perform disturbed functions and the end result is very troublesome. During an attack the neurons fire much faster than the normal.

A report in United States has reveled that every one in 100 peoples have suffered or is suffering from this disease. Among them 20% patients have suffered from unknown causes of Seizure attacks. This disease is not a tall contagious and can be cured with proper treatment.

If you find someone having a Seizure attack, you should roll that person sideways to prevent from chocking of any fluid. The head should be cushioned immediately and the clothing should be loosened. The movement should not be restricted unless you find that the person is in danger. Nothing should be put into the person’s mouth till the time he or she comes out of the attack. Stay with him or her till the attack ends and then call the doctor. If you find that the attack is lasting for a long time, take the person to the hospital immediately.
